Being an active user of all these social networks takes time. At the beginning it takes a lot of time, although eventually things will get easier. There is so much information and there are so many good professionals that it is tempting to try to stay connected to all of them.
Beginning with Social Media Marketing
June 30th, 2008
Reading Scott Monty's Social Media Marketing blog since some time ago I have become increasingly interested in the Social Media phenomenon. I learn a lot, and developed new ideas to promote sites through social media networks.

Social Media Marketing is the process of promotion through social media sites like article directories, social networks or communities. Correctly executed, it can to increase incoming links, reputation and consequently traffic. Best of all, it's cheap. And having your content published in trusted sites can help increase credibility and develop authority.
The Importance of Page Title
June 10th, 2008
If there is one place where keywords must be present, this is page title, you know the stuff between <title> tags in the <head>. Yes, this is what is displayed in the title bar of the browser, and the text when we bookmark or add a page to Favorites. And this is so important that the first recomendation I give to our customers when optimizing a site is that, if I could only do one optimization change, this will be working on the title.

Despite there are no specific rules we must consider some points. For instance, title should not have more than about 9 words or 60 characters, and keywords should be used toward the beginning rather than the end. Considering that Google looks for keywords in the title, for me there is no value in adding the company name unless the company is well known (like Coca-Cola); if including the company name is required, do it at the end of the string.
Structure of Internal Links
May 30th, 2008
Linking your pages across your site can help retain PR (Google PageRank) of your site while distributing value to the most relevant pages. A site's PR is the sum of the PR of all individual pages although it is usually referred to on a page basis.

Keep in mind that internal links share this PR value among your site sections, links to external pages reduce your PR (because you are "giving away" some of your value to others), and the same way links to your site increase your PR. And finally, the more internal links between your pages, the best is distributed your PR in your site.

The Value of Multiple Domain Sites

If your site offers several unrelated products or services, it's clear that splitting it into multiple sites it's the way to go. But what happens when these products or services are related but distinct? It's time for expansion and better organization...
Long Tail SEO Strategies
April 18th, 2008
Most of our clients tell us that before hiring a professional SEO company have tried to implement some ideas on their own. Many of these (sometimes great) ideas come from blogs and articles. To my surprise, not many of them know about the Long Tail.
For those of you who haven't heard about it, the Long Tail refers to the not so common keywords that visitors use to come to our site. When looking to what terms bring traffic, we usually see many keywords or sentences that get just two or three visitors. The Long Tail idea is that if we add all these least used terms, we get more traffic than our optimized keywords.

Following the link-building series, here are 7 elements you should consider to decide if it is worth the time and money to get a link on a site.

So, what's the idea behind this blog?
November 17th, 2007
First of all, we do not pretend to be the Mr. know-it-all-about-SEO guys, we are just passionate about our work, and we like to talk about that. It's an enriching experience and one of the best ways to learn more. Here we will not try to create lists of best ways to generate traffic or gain popularity because you can find many of them (and some great ones) over the net. What we will do here is relate our own experience. The successes and failures we face in our daily work.
We will also talk about our methodologies, and relate the best and worst actions we take and their consequences. I really hope you find something useful here that constribute to create a better SEO experience for all of us.
Thanks for your interest!
